MIGHT’S BROAD OBJECTIVES
MIGHT seeks to:
▪ To promote, set-standards, protect and monitor developments in peace, human rights and related areas in trade and tax justice among others that create an environment which generates laws, policies and best practices that can be utilized to achieve peace, justice, democracy and sustainable development for all Ugandans, at a national, regional and international level.
▪ To provide a platform for advocacy, awareness raising, building capacities of stake holders and for stakeholders to deliberate on global, regional and national issues with a view of developing best practices against the marginalization of minorities in Uganda. Stake holders will include women, handicapped persons among other minorities, members of parliament, civil society organizations, Kingdoms and Chiefdoms, local governments, Ministers, Justices, police, army.
▪ To provide community based development projects that empower minorities and promote human rights and sustainable development.
▪ To network with academic institutions, media houses, policy makers, non-governmental organizations, religious institutions, cultural institutions, civil society organizations and government institutions concerned about peace, human rights and sustainable development at a national, regional and international level, for the benefit of minorities in Uganda.
▪ To develop innovations contributing and contribute to the long term capacity of Uganda, in matters of peace, human rights and related matters in agriculture, finance and trade for an inclusive sustainable development.
At a broader level, MIGHT seeks to:
▪ To strengthen the fight for peace, social justice, human rights, democracy, good governance and rule of law, without discrimination.
▪ To network with stake holders concerned about the promotion, protection and respect of peace, human rights and sustainable development in Uganda at national, regional and international levels.
